This was the “Triberg Christmas Magic” 2011
There were 40,000 visitors at the 8th Annual “Triberg Christmas Magic.” It was a breathtaking event with 800,000 lights at Germany's highest waterfall featuring big international stars as well as regionally known artists and a gigantic fireworks display on four evenings. One of the highlights of each day was the unparalleled fire show taking place five times daily over the wintry waterfall.
The “Triberg Christmas Magic” event organizers, Thomas Weisser and Rainer Huber, have drawn an exceedingly positive balance from the event. Thomas Weisser would like to thank all of the workers and helpers as well as the sponsors for the perfect realization of the Christmas Magic 2011.
The numerous positive feedbacks from the visitors have confirmed that the 8th Annual “Triberger Christmas Magic” was especially successful. Certainly the wonderful winter weather also contributed to it. The massive amount of snow on the last day also couldn't keep the many visitors from coming to Triberg. In the end, the organizers announced that a total of 40,000 visitors attended the event.
From December 25-30th, the visitors experienced a fantastic program for the whole family: more than 80 music shows on two stages; the fire artistry presented 30 times at the waterfall; 4 terrific fireworks displays to end the day; public favorites such as “Reiner Kirsten” from Oberprechtal or the “Schwarzwald-Quintett” (Black Forest Quintet) from Simonswald, just to name a few. These along with top international artists like “The Bretts,” “Voices of Glory” and the “Golden Voices of Gospel” from the USA guaranteed for a diverse program. Many other artists, consisting of 24 groups and singers, provided for a wide range of musical styles from folks music, pop, rock, soul, gospel and classical. So everyone, no matter their age, got their money's worth! Having performed over the years at the Christmas Magic as an ongoing part of the popular entertainment program were Rebecca Weisser, Michael Wackerzapp and Kristin Rempt (who also had a hand in the organization)
For the second time, Kevin Tarte, who is a popular star from many musicals, was a magnet to the public. Feedback heard from many repeat visitors to the “Triberg Christmas Magic” reflected that the program of the popular Christmas event has increased in variety and quality over the years. In the meantime, it has reached an unbelievable level. Through the “Triberg Christmas Magic Talent” casting taking place three weeks prior to the “Triberg Christmas Magic,” the event organizer's idea to also offer a chance and stage to promising young talents found an excellent format at the Offenburger Christmasmarket. Likewise this time, both casting winners, Hannah and Max, were a real discovery. The fire artist Hannes Schwarz and his team indeed didn't have it easy in changing and expanding the fire show program since the basic element of fire offers only a narrow arena for variation. Therefore, it was amazing that the visitors of the 8th Annual “Triberg Christmas Magic” experienced many new tricks and special effects. The “Triberg Christmas Magic” visitors' high expectations of the unique fire show over the waterfall was still exceeded this time around.
The idea of the organizers to keep the audience in the mood by entertaining them through funny gnomes as they waited for the fire show was well received. Under the direction of Hansjörg Faller, youngsters from the Turnverein Schonach (gymnastics club) entertained the waiting public with acrobatic tricks as well as passing out sweets.
With such a successful Christmas event in 2011, one can already look forward to the “Triberg Christmas Magic 2012!”
